We were really excited to go on our trip. We were going to be gone for 2 1/2 weeks, go through 13 states, and see lots of family and sights. Ryan and I had a school meeting the morning we left. We really didn't have to tell the kids to get ready because they were super excited about leaving and were ready as soon as they woke up early that morning. Kyla made each person blue name tags for each person in our family. Ryan even wore his to our school meeting. The teachers got a big laugh when they saw the name tag and told us that she must have made those so that we wouldn't loose anyone in our family. It must have worked because we didn't loose anyone!

After packing everything into the car, we were ready to start our journey. After 20 miles into the road trip, we heard Kyla from the back seat say, "Are we in California yet?" Ryan said, "No." to which Kyla said, "Oooh! It's taking FOREVER to get to California!!!" We laughed as we thought of what it REALLY takes to get there!
We pulled into Stearling, CO late our first night and stayed at an interesting hotel. Regan loves staying at hotels! He usually runs in first through the door to get the first peek at where we are staying the night. We love hearing him say, "Oh wow! They have a blow dryer, and some cups, and a chair." He is easily amused.
