Maile turns 12!

It was a crazy week to say the least for us! Thursday, we had a baby. Saturday, we came home. Sunday, we had Halloween and everyone over for dinner and fun. Monday, Maile's birthday where we had everyone come back over for dinner and fun again. Whew...nothing seems to keep us down from our crazy lives... Maile was woken up by surprise by Ryan for a daddy/daughter birthday breakfast at Cracker Barrel. When I was growing up, my Dad would take us out for breakfast every birthday. We usually ate at Denny's at the bar...where we thought we were super cool for sitting in a bar stool with the other grown ups. Since we didn't want Maile to feel left out with the baby's arrival and our lives being turned upside down...we wanted to do something fun and start a new tradition for our family as well. I think the other kids are going to like this new tradition as well! For Maile's birthday dinner, she requested homemade pizza by Ryan.
He made the most delicious dough and pizza ever! I think it is safe to say that we enjoyed Maile's request! After dinner, we ate dessert that Chelsea made....a chocolate and peanut butter dream come true dessert...also requested by Maile. We opened up presents and then Maile and Ryan went out to the movies to watch Secretariat.

It is hard to believe that our little Hawaiian baby is 12 years old! Where does the time go?! All to fast as I am reminded of by my own mother! It is true! It goes by in a blink! We are so blessed to have Maile in our family! The Lord knew what He was doing when He sent her to us as the first child. She is 12 going on 22! Just like she was in the hospital on her birthday, this girl is looking to make her way in the world..wide eyed and ready. We are truly blessed to have her and don't know what we would do without her smart and fun ways.

um... maybe he took YOU out for breakfast every birthday, but he didn't do that for me! Hey... I'm owed 30+ breakfasts!

12?!! It really does seem like just yesterday she was here as a itty bitty babe. But...I like her all grown also. Love that Maile girl!!

Just reading about your busy lives makes me a little tired. You all are living full and wonderful lives. Soak up every precious second.

Love you all!!
