Last night, our church had their annual "Trunk or Treat" party. The youth have different stations that the kids rotate to such as cake walk, pin the face on the pumpkin, picture taking, etc. Then the kids all go to the parking lot and trick or treat out of the trunks of all of our cars. People decorate their trunks like they would a house. One of the families always does a very elaborate trunk that includes fog machines, music, and surprise factors that they adjust the the scary factor based on ages of kids. The kids look forward to it every year. This year, our kids chose to be a variety of different people/things. Let the drums roll...for the Batchelor Halloween 2009 roster, we have Hermione Granger from Harry Potter....Maile LOVES Harry Potter! We think she fits perfectly as Hermione.
We have Indiana Jones. Don't you love his fierce look?! We feel much safer now that Indy is here!
Cinderella decided to come to us this year. At the Trunk or Treat party last night, we had more than one person tell us that Ariana looked the most like the real Cinderella than they have ever seen before. Does that mean that this Cinderella will also clean like the real Cinderella does too? Oh boy! We can't wait!!! I'm sure glad because we have a 3 year old mischievous maker that would give her cleaning skills a run for her money!
We have a lady bug that also loves Pee-lows. She actually wanted to be a car, but they were all out of car costumes at Target, so she chose a lady bug as costume choice B. Actually, that is a lie, this really is costume choice C because she wanted to wear a hot dog costume that is for a dog to wear. I tried to tell her that the hot dog was for real doggies and she started to scream as I pried the hot dog from her hands. We quickly made a b-line to the check out to avoid any more embarrassment from her tantrum of not being allowed to be a hot dog for a medium sized dog.
Glinda the good witch returned this year but with much curlier hair than last year and a lot shorter too. :-) Kyla loved Maile's Glinda crown from last year, so she decided to be Glinda this year. We can't wait for the magic she'll spread around here!
