Our Labor Day Holiday was one that was busy and fun. Ryan and I tried to do some house projects that we have been needing to get done. One of these is putting up a curtain in Regan's room. He has the largest kid room in the house. He shares it with Eva, but cannot seem to sleep there. If Eva sees him in his bed, then she jumps up and down in her bed and talks to him non stop. Regan can't fall asleep, so he ends up leaving the room. So, I came up with the idea of putting a curtain up to divide the room for bedtime. He slept in his room last night for the first time in a long time...and the curtain worked! Here are the kids playing around with Regan's new room. :-)

Maile and Regan making faces and having fun.

This is right after Ryan and I put up the curtain. Regan was super excited to have this especially since he just watched his favorite new show called, "House Hunters International" where a couple bought a vacation home in Paris and they put up a curtain system to divide their flat as well.

When we moved into our house, we had a gross, dated ceiling fan that hung in the way all the time. We removed it, but couldn't seem to replace it as the electrical wiring in our house is a bit strange. After racking our brains...and trying different wiring techniques...I said to Ryan, "Let's just wait until Dean, our electrical friend and neighbor can take a look at it." Ryan said, "NO, I want to figure this out!!!" Well, he did! My husband is quite the handyman to say the least!!! I love how he sticks with it and can do anything!!! He is my amazing prince!

We had a weekend of electrical mishaps. Our weed eater wouldn't turn off despite pushing the off button and then went into hyper speed...a speed it never had before...and then caught on fire. The other thing that died was our washing machine. This appliance is by far, our hardest working appliance in this house! Ryan and I tried to fix it ourselves, but despite the different techniques, it was not worth it due to it's age and usage. We knew that it would be downhill for us with that washer from here out, so Saturday night, we went to 5 stores and found this beauty at Lowes. First of all, we will totally buy from Lowes again. We were the most pleased with their service, their warranty plan, and their free delivery/installation/haul away offer...though Ryan and I carried out our old washer to our curb before we knew that Lowes would have done it for us. We were skeptical about the front loaders due to research and talk with our repair man, but after hearing about this one, we decided to give it a whirl. The top loader that we were originally going to buy was more expensive than this one, but the guy at Lowes steered us to this one instead...another impressive point for us. So, while we were in the midst of house projects, the men came and brought us our Whirlpool duet beauty. The kids were super excited to see it. After being without a washer for 3 days, we had plenty of wash to do. We loaded it up and let the kids push the buttons to make it go. Regan ran and got a bag of chips as you can see in the picture above, and watched the cycle go. Maile told me that she would love to be the new laundress in the house because she loves our new washer so much. This has been a dream come true!!! Now, if I could only get the matching dryer that might want the kids to fold the clothes as well....
