Nauvoo

We decided to go to Nauvoo overnight for some fun. My Mom and Dad had not been to Nauvoo since 1989! Shelly, David, Ariana, and Calleigh went to Nauvoo first. We followed a little later. The kids and Grandma Red were excited for the new road trip.
Papa, Moochie, Chelsea, and Cailyn drove caravan style with us down there. Here they are in the car next to us. Chelsea is trying to read the Lord of the Rings book while Moochie is talking on the phone with us while we are egging him to egg Papa to see how fast he can go....he is a bit of a "safer snail paced driver" than us. Well, he showed us up!!!

As we were driving to Keokuk, Iowa to our hotel room, we got to watch the most amazing sunset on the Mississippi River. The camera doesn't capture it even an ounce...but trust me, the sky was giving us quite the show! Kyla said, "Look Grandma Red, it's purple-licious!"

We all stayed at the same hotel. Papa and Grandma Red had an adjoining room with us. The kids really enjoyed running between the two doors. Regan, Kyla, and Ariana slept in their room while Maile and Eva were in ours. Ana ended up sleeping with later, but she did start out there. She loves sleeping next to the baby in Mommy's tummy. We enjoyed swimming the night before and eating breakfast with everyone in the morning. Regan of course left his own comment card for the hotel. His suggestion was to change the pool to a salt water pool like Grammy's. :-)
