camping at Blackwell

So we decided to go camping on Friday night, last week. We were running out of time because they don't let you check in past 7pm, so we decided to just have a cook out instead. When we pulled up to our camp spot, we were beguiled and decided to sleep there like we originally planned earlier that day...so we raced around like wild people trying to get all our camping equipment in time for the 9:30pm gate lock in. We both cracked open our brand new tents and slept camping style. Here are Moochie and Chelsea with Eva and Kyla.
This picture kind of sums up what it's been like for the 2 weeks of the kids being gone. Eva looks up to Kyla and would ask her things all the time. The two were like two peas in a pod. In this picture, she is probably saying something like this, "Kyla, do you want to run around like crazy and see Mom chase us super fast as we try to fun away?" :-)

Kyla and Eva made a drum out of a tree stump.

Here are our two tents ready for fun. We had an awesome night. The girls were sleeping in our tent to start out with, then we separated them and put them in one tent each. Michael, Chelsea, Ryan, and I sat around the camp fire telling stories and talking good times...Ryan even shared his scary slish slosh story which made Moochie scream like a girl... :-) While we were watching the millions of fire flies and camp fire, we would hear Eva say, "MOM...MOM...I'm SLEEPING!" We just laughed! We stayed up until midnight...we realized that we were the only campers awake. Seems like people in the Midwest like to sleep early here. :-) We had an awesome time!!!
